Who this is for

If you used to train, this fits.

Built for

  • Men and women 25–45 who used to lift, run, or play sport
  • Newer lifters willing to film, ask, and stick to the plan
  • Complete beginners ready to learn properly and commit from day one
  • Mobility as a core part of the plan — better lifts, reduced injury risk throughout life
  • Anyone carrying extra weight that wasn't there at 25
  • Returners after kids, surgery, career stretch, or just years off
  • People who want structured programming, not random workouts
  • Anyone who's tried generic online plans and given up by week three

Not for

  • People who won't step outside their comfort zone
  • Anyone chasing fads — 24-hour fasts, strict keto/carnivore diets, etc.
  • People who want to be told to "trust the process" without questions
The method

Three things, done properly.

01 / PROGRAMMING

Structured. Periodised.

Compound-first ordering. Progressive overload tracked week to week. Phases that build on each other instead of random workouts pulled from Instagram. You'll know exactly what you're doing and why.

02 / NUTRITION

Evidence over hype.

Macros as a percentage of your daily calories. Nutrition is the lever that moves everything else. Micronutrients drive the systems most plans ignore — from energy production and hormones to recovery, immunity, and a dozen systems beyond. Macros are the fuel; micros are the engine.

03 / CHECK-INS

Direct. Honest.

Weekly written check-ins. Monthly video call. WhatsApp access for the questions that matter. No soft feedback, no performative positivity.

The standard

Consistency
over intensity.

That doesn't mean easy.

"I trained myself to a high level. Life intervened. I'm rebuilding properly — the same way I'd programme any client. Every plan is tailored to current fitness, goals, and availability."

Started training as a child. Two decades in before life intervened. Studied Sport and Exercise Management at Kent. Came back to it the way I'd coach anyone — structured, evidence-based, no shortcuts.

I work the way I'd want to be coached. Programming you can trust because it's grounded in exercise science and twelve years of coaching. Nutrition matters more than the training itself — full guidance and photo check-ins, not hand-waving. Honest feedback when something isn't working, and a fast change to the plan. I'd never sell something I wouldn't run myself.

The mark

Two symbols. One method.

Φ

Phi — the golden ratio

Balance, proportion, and intelligent design. Programming should be the right work in the right order — not random workouts pulled from nowhere.

DNA — the science

Biology, evidence, the raw code of human performance. Coaching grounded in what actually works in the literature, not what trends on Instagram this month.

Common questions

The honest answers.

I haven't trained in years. Will this work for me?

+

Yes — this is exactly who the coaching is built for. Every exercise is prescribed on a case-by-case basis. Your mobility, injury history, and movement quality decide what you do, not a template. For some lifters that means good mornings before Romanian deadlifts while we work on the hinge. For others it's an alternative to the barbell, sometimes for a phase, sometimes for good, because it delivers the same training effect with less risk. Form-first for the first two weeks, supersets layered in once that's locked. We don't pretend you're starting where you left off.

I'm a complete beginner — can I still apply?

+

Absolutely, if you're committed to sticking to the plan. We start with introductory training to find your baseline and build from there. It's better to start too easy than too hard.

The first phase is form-heavy rather than load-heavy. We learn the basics (hip hinge, bracing, posture, foot pressure). We identify weak areas and tight spots before adding weight. The exact exercises are chosen for you, not from a template.

Do you do in-person coaching in Banbury?

+

Yes. Train with me in person at PureGym, Banbury. Real-time form correction and hands-on coaching, with the full programming and check-in structure from the online plan delivered face-to-face.

Clients can graduate to online coaching once their form and habits are locked in. You can stay in-person as long as it works for you.

Once you've applied, we'll discuss your goals, availability, and decide on the plan that works best for you.

What are the in-person terms?

+

8-session blocks expire 3 months from purchase. One extension of up to 4 weeks available per block on request, taking the window to 4 months.

Cancellations with 24+ hours notice can be rescheduled within the block window. Cancellations within 24 hours are forfeited.

Payment for your next block lands 4 working days before your final session so your new programme is ready on time. Late payment means a delayed plan.

What equipment do I need?

+

Gym access is strongly preferred.

Home-only can work for some clients depending on goals and what you have available. A barbell, plates, a rack, adjustable dumbbells, a bench, and a mat cover the basics. We'll talk about it on the call before starting.

How is this different from a generic plan I'd buy online?

+

Generic plans assume you'll fit yourself to the plan. This is the opposite. Your programming adapts depending on your progress and needs — such as muscular imbalances, posture, mobility, and recovery. The programme advances with you. Nutrition targets shift with your bodyweight and goals. You get a coach, not a PDF.

Do I have to count calories?

+

Macros yes, fanatical tracking no. You'll have a daily target and a clear food framework — what to prioritise, what to drop. One flexible homemade meal a week sits inside the plan. The point is consistency over months, not perfection over days.

What if it isn't working for me?

+

Tell me. We'll review what's happening with training, nutrition, recovery, life outside the gym, and adjust the plan. There is no contract and you can cancel at any time.
